At the UN’s Stockholm+50 commemorative conference in Sweden in 2022 it was at a side event organised by the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature that a call went out for international support for the adoption of Rights of Nature in Ireland. This led to a collaboration facilitated by Narayan Toolan with indigenous leaders in Ecuador.
